Job Description
Red Ram Truck Parts & Service is looking for a Senior Yard Technician to join our yard and end-of-life vehicle (ELV) salvage team. If you don't mind getting your hands dirty and enjoy driving heavy equipment, we want YOU on our team!
What You'll Do:
- Safely dismantle heavy trucks and remove engines, drivetrain components, body parts, accessories, and other saleable or recyclable materials.
- Follow established dismantling sequences and work instructions.
- Protect parts from avoidable damage during removal, handling, and storage.
- Support depollution, recycling, and end-of-life vehicle processes in accordance with Red Ram’s safety and environmental procedures.
- Move, stage, and organize trucks, parts, pallets, scrap, equipment, and other materials to maintain an orderly, safe, and efficient yard.
- Support inventory-location accuracy by following Red Ram’s tagging, labelling, and movement procedures.
- Complete practical repair, maintenance, construction, and improvement projects throughout the yard.
- Help keep tools, equipment, and work areas in safe operating condition.
- Support special projects assigned by the Yard Supervisor or Yard Operations Manager.
- Safely operate forklifts, wheel loaders, skid steers, or other yard equipment when trained, qualified, and authorized.
- Mentor junior employees to complete quality jobs safely, effectively, and practically.
Who You Are
- You have extensive experience with using oxy/acetylene torches
- You have valid certifications to operate a forklift, loader, skid steer, and and other yard equipment.
- You enjoy physical challenges, but embrace the concept of safely “working smarter, not harder”
- You learn best by “doing” and, with proper direction, are comfortable working with minimal supervision
- You come to work with a positive “can do” attitude and your infectious positivity turns every workday into a celebration; creating a supportive atmosphere where everyone feels like they’re on top of the world
- You work well alone, but also thrive on teamwork and enjoy jumping in “feet first” to help our team conquer challenges and achieve epic victories.
- You enjoy working with your hands and are adept at using air & hand tools.
- You're not afraid of hard work, are physically fit and able to lift 50lbs.
- You love being outside and are comfortable working for long periods of time on your feet throughout the year in all weather conditions

- cutting torch: 3 years (preferred)
