Job Summary
We are a rapidly growing accounting/bookkeeping firm located in Ottawa Ontario and looking to add a new fulltime employee to our team.
We work with a lot of construction/trades, you will also get the opportunity to work with realtors, doctors, and service based businesses.
1. Note this is NOT a remote position must be able to come into the office located in Ottawa
2. Must be able to take on monthly bookkeeping clients and run with it while following our detailed checklist
3. Must be detailed oriented and able to meet all deadlines
4. Ask questions when you are unsure of things, communication is key!
5. QBO experience is a must
6. Having experience with the following softwares is definitely an asset but not a deal breaker:*Dext*wagepoint*xenett
Duties
- Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers and journals.
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Process payroll accurately and on time.
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or issues.
- Prepare financial reports as needed for management review.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in all accounting practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role, with a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks Online
- Experience with bank reconciliation, payroll processing, budgeting, and account analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with accounts payable processes is preferred.
