Urban Life Solutions is currently looking for Full-Time Water Truck Operator in our Calgary office. Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Operator will be responsible for providing water services to our various work sites as well as performing a variety of tasks in commercial and municipal landscapes, while providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Operate a water truck complete with water hoses and automatic sprayers
- Walk construction sites and water assigned areas with large watering hose
- Maintain an organized watering schedule and develop strategic routes
- Demonstrate safety leadership and safe work practices at all times
- Work in accordance with ULS policies and procedures
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain ULS client relationships
- Proper loading and driving of trucks and trailers
- Overseeing hazard assessments and completing equipment pre and post trip inspections
- Overall quality assurance on delivery and completion of tasks
- Additional tasks as required
Basic/Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of previous experience in a similar role
- Valid Class 3 Driver’s License and proof of driver’s abstract
- Exceptional Customer Service skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions
- Ability to maintain simple records and make verbal reports
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- All successful candidates must provide a recent criminal record check as part of employment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous landscaping, snow removal and/or maintenance experience is an asset
- Ability to take direction, learn and work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to maintain composure under stressful situations
- Motivated and energetic team player with an attention to detail and great work ethic
- Punctual and dependable
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
- Ability to perform intensive tasks for extended periods of time
- Working in a variety of outdoor environments with the ability to withstand cold and hot temperatures, noise, dust and wet work environments
- Physically demanding position
- Standing, walking, squatting/crouching, and driving
- Operating a variety of heavy equipment and tools
- Repetitive motions
- Ability to regularly lift, carry, push and pull weights of up to 50 lbs
