Job Summary
Responsible for maintaining and updating financial records of the business, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank accounts, payroll and tax records.
Perform bookkeeping duties such as coding, posting and processing day to day, month-end and year-end accounting transactions.
Responsibilities and Duties
CORE FUNCTIONS:
- Code source documents such as invoices and receipts to appropriate accounts.
- Maintain and update accounting records including recording and posting transactions in general journal, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
- Verify, reconcile, and post credit card transactions
- performing accounts payable duties, including keeping track of supplier invoices, matching invoice to packing list, and remitting timely payments
- overseeing accounts receivable by creating invoices and sending them to customers, tracking payments and collecting overdue accounts
- Maintain bank account records; reconcile bank accounts
- Perform banking transactions such as deposits and bills payment.
- Verify and replenish petty cash reports
- Maintain an orderly filing system
- Tracking capital assets and preparing amortization schedules
- Prepare various accounting analysis, summaries and reports.
- Provides clerical and administrative support as required by management
Accounting Software:
- Sage 50 (Simply Accounting)
Payroll Software:
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in a similar role is an asset
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is a must
- Experience in a healthcare work environment is preferred
- Customer service experience is preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Professional, self-motivated, and receptive
