About this opportunity
You will be responsible for providing timely and accurate translation services (English to French) for online & print materials. Mainly retail flyers/catalogues, web pages/ads, direct mail and promotional signage, emails, social media, radio, video etc. This position is located in Mississauga Ontario.
You will understand the unique language and cultural nuances of French Consumers and the Quebec and other French-speaking markets. You are able to translate English creative meaning and translate it into French so it reflects the sentiment and makes sense for this regional audience.
What you will do
Translate various print and online communication from English to French.
Ensure the translation conforms to client brand guidelines, terminology as well as consumer and language laws in the province of Quebec.
Use SDL Trados Studio to translate in a timely and accurate manner.
Act as a resource to provide technical expertise and guidance on terminology and linguistic issues
Review other’s translations for quality assurance
Proofread and revise own translations
Follow and help establish translation standards according to the customer brand.
What you have to offer
University degree with a focus in Translation and/or equivalent experience
Ability to proficiently translate English language into French-Canadian language and maintain cultural context (an understanding of the French Canadian (Quebec) market is essential).
Minimum 2 years’ experience in English-to-French translation (preferably retail, grocery/food industry oriented)
Minimum 2 years’ experience SDL TRADOS
Proficient with SDL TRADOS and MS Office Suite, Acrobat Pro (InDesign experience an asset).
Strong written, verbal communication skills, and professional interpersonal skills
Collaborative team player, problem solver and has great organizational skills
Is results-oriented and an eagerness to learn.
Extremely detail oriented, accurate, and efficient
Superior time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
