Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with blue collar workers. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and providing therapeutic support to patients across various settings, with an emphasis on understanding medical terminology and collecting relevant data to inform treatment plans. The Psychologist will play a vital role in supporting the mental health and well-being of our diverse patient population.
Duties
- Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations for patients of all ages.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on thorough data collection and clinical observations.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling sessions tailored to patient needs.
- Collaborate with medical professionals, educators, and families to coordinate comprehensive care strategies.
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient progress, treatment outcomes, and clinical notes in accordance with healthcare regulations.
- Engage in ongoing research activities to stay current with best practices in psychology and related fields.
- Assist in training staff or students on psychological principles relevant to patient care or special education programs.
- Support patients through crisis intervention when necessary, ensuring safety and appropriate follow-up.
Requirements
- Valid licensure or certification as a Psychologist in the province of Alberta.
- Experience working with blue collar workers preferred.
- Proven ability to handle patient care with empathy, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Skills in data collection, analysis, and interpretation to inform effective treatment strategies.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families.
