Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth daily operations of the front desk. This role requires strong administrative skills, familiarity with dental and medical terminology, and experience with electronic health records systems such as Abeldent. The Dental Receptionist plays a vital role in creating a welcoming environment while managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out, and insurance processing.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage patient check-in and check-out processes
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments using Abeldent or similar dental practice management software
- Answer multi-line phone systems promptly and professionally, directing calls as needed
- Verify patient insurance information and process claims using electronic medical records systems such as Epic
- Collect payments, co-pays, and outstanding balances accurately at the front desk
- Maintain organized patient records in compliance with privacy regulations
- Assist with administrative tasks including filing, faxing, and correspondence
- Ensure the reception area is tidy, welcoming, and stocked with necessary supplies
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff to coordinate patient care
Experience
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist preferred
- Familiarity with dental office software such as Abeldent is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental care
- Strong office experience including handling multi-line phone systems and administrative duties
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
- Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members
Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
