Position Overview
FORM is seeking a Director of Finance to lead the company’s financial operations, planning, and reporting functions. Reporting to the CEO, this role will oversee day-to-day finance and accounting activities, drive budgeting and forecasting processes, and provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making across the organization.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, a hands-on approach, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with business goals
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to support decision-making and organizational accountability
- Maintain a deep focus on cash and cashflow, ensuring the company’s short- and long-term needs are anticipated, monitored, and managed effectively
- Identify and implement improvements to financial systems, processes, and tools to drive efficiency
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements
- Provide financial insight and analysis to support cross-functional and departmental initiatives
- Manage relationships with external advisors, including tax, audit, legal, and banking partners
- Identify financial risks and opportunities, conduct scenario planning, and recommend mitigation strategies
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Lead FP&A activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling, with ownership of short- and long-term financial plans
- Support the CEO with preparation of investor materials and financial models related to fundraising activities
- Support the CEO with financial communications to the Board of Directors and shareholders
- Support the CEO and executive team in developing and implementing the company’s strategic vision and financial objectives
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Qualified professional accountant (CPA or equivalent) with a strong work ethic, integrity and excellent problem solving abilities
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting
- Experience with hardware and SaaS business models; strong understanding of SaaS KPIs is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and develop finance team members through the phases of a growing start-up
- Experience supporting equity and debt financing processes
- Experience with employee stock option plans (ESOPs), including administration and cap table management
- A proven track record of excellent internal and external financial and KPI reporting in a complex, multi-currency environment
- International (US and Europe preferred) and Canadian tax and accounting experience
- Experience with Canadian government grants and tax credits, in particular SR&ED
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Clear communication skills and ability to explain financial concepts to a broad audience
Additional Skills:
- Experience in consumer electronics, fitness, or wearable electronics is an asset
- Adaptable to changing business conditions and priorities

Pay: $135,000.00-$170,000.00 per year
