Qualifications:
1. Previous housekeeping experience, preferably in a retirement home.
2. Ability to speak, read and write English. Must be able to follow oral and written directions and to do simple arithmetic calculations.
3. Ability to do extensive standing, walking, squatting, kneeling and moving of light objects.
4. Must be free of communicable diseases.
5. Must provide a recent Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
6. Must provide a recent Tuberculosis Screening test and proof of vaccination for COVID 19
Responsibilities:
1. Maintain a clean, safe environment in the residence.
2. Work as a member of a team with all other residence personnel.
3. Be knowledgeable of and practice residence's fire and safety programs.
Job Description:
1. Clean, dust and vacuum residents' bedrooms and public areas of the residence, i.e., lounges, corridors and elevators.
2. Clean and sanitize residents' bathroom and all washrooms in the residence, including windows, all fixtures, tiles, floors, vanity and mirrors.
3. Clean rooms vacated by residents and prepare rooms for incoming residents.
4. Collect refuse from residents' rooms and other areas of the residence and dispose of this refuse in accordance with set procedures.
5. Clean and organize outdoor and patio furniture.
6. Water and care for plants in the residence.
7. Clean and restock housekeeping cart.
8. Report malfunctions in equipment and repairs needed to Maintenance Department through the Maintenance Memo Book.
9. Notify Housekeeping Supervisor when housecleaning suppliers are low.
10. Document and sign on all task’s sheets provided for the department.
