The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst will be responsible for developing internal and external financial statements and reports, while ensuring that all documentation and transactions comply with IFRS. The role will play an integral part in overseeing the month-end cycle, preparation of journal entries, and sales tax filings. The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst will analyze financial results, while identifying anomalies and determining trends.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Prepare monthly journal entries and conduct bank and general ledger account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
- Perform account reconciliations, verify bank deposits and payments, and ensure timely follow-up actions in accordance with corporate standards.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external financial statements, while ensuring the highest quality, reliability, and accuracy of information.
- Compile and analyze financial information for business units and perform variance analysis.
- Provide support, coordination, address and respond to queries from auditors and internal reviewers, while taking ownership of issues to ensure a successful resolution.
- Prepare year-end working papers and schedules for the annual financial audit.
- Prepare sales tax filings accurately and timely.
- Identify opportunities to automate, streamline and enhance reporting processes.
- Oversee the month-end cycle and deliverables to ensure timely financial reporting for internal and external stakeholder groups.
- Provide mentoring, leadership, and coaching to junior staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the finance team and organizational objectives.
WHAT WILL YOU NEED?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, and strong understanding of accounting principles,
- Over 5 years of practical accounting experience, including at least 1 year of experience mentoring or coaching junior staff.
- Proficiency in bank reconciliations, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- YARDI or SiteLink experience is considered an asset.
- Ability to manage a large volume of daily transactions and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to be a self-starter, work independently, and demonstrate excellent organizational skills and multitasking abilities.
