Why is this role important?
Forklift operators drive a reach truck around the DC moving pallets from the dock to the racking or from the racking into a home slot. They use an on-board touch screen computer to process data and a Telxon to scan pallets. The colleague can either sit or stand while using the reach truck. The colleague will also lift, lower and carry products from a pallet in a home slot onto a hand bomb table or on the new pallet.
Use an on board computer to input, read, understand and process data.
Drive a reach truck, seated or standing, around the DC with pallets of product from a dock location to the racking in aisles
Use a reach truck to remove pallets from the racking system, lower it and place it into the appropriate home slot location.
Lift, lower and carry product such as boxes and bags to remove them from a home slot prior to replenishment.
Use a Telxon to scan codes on sticker labels to process the pallet into the system.
Remove wrap from the pallet prior to placing the pallet in the home slot.
Read and understand data such as descriptions and numbers from slot locations, products and computer information.
