Job Summary
Atomik Industries Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to join our growing team. We are currently seeking subcontractors, although employment opportunities may be considered for the right candidate.
This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys a variety of work including equipment installation, stainless tubing systems, troubleshooting, and industrial service work. The successful candidate must be capable of working independently, solving problems in the field, and maintaining a high standard of workmanship and professionalism.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment and systems.
- Perform stainless tubing installation using Swagelok-style compression fittings.
- Thread, assemble, and install carbon steel and stainless steel piping systems.
- Install and commission pressure washer systems, vacuum systems, lubrication equipment, and related mechanical systems.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and installation instructions.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical system issues in commercial and industrial environments.
- Perform equipment modifications and retrofits as required.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Coordinate with customers and other trades to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain accurate documentation of completed work and deficiencies identified in the field.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company safety standards and industry best practices.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and quality.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Millwright, plumber, hvac, Pipefitter, or General Handyman with equivalent mechanical experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience threading pipe and installing mechanical systems.
- Experience installing stainless tubing systems using Swagelok-style fittings is considered a strong asset.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract.
- Reliable transportation a must
- Ability to lift equipment and work in a variety of industrial and commercial environments.
- Willingness to travel within Alberta when required.

Subcontractor Requirements
- Valid GST number.
- WCB coverage.
- Liability insurance considered an asset.
- Ability to invoice for completed work.

Pay: $38.00-$65.00 per hour
