Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
To provide a high quality of nursing care to patients and their families utilizing the nursing process, following established standards of practice both within the hospital and the profession.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of a recognized diploma/degree program in nursing.
Current general certificate of registration from the college of Nurses of Ontario.
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate.
Recent dialysis experience preferred.
2-3 years’ experience in acute medical/surgical or complex chronic care nursing.
Successful completion of Nephrology 1 and 2 preferred.
Requirement to provide hemodialysis treatments primarily at the Oak Ridge's satellite site; however will be assigned to Mackenzie Health Main Site and/or Vaughan Satellite locations.
Participate in on-call for acute hemodialysis at Mackenzie Health Richmond Hill Hospital and other satellite sites.
Interest in working with acute and chronic patients in a hemodialysis environment.
Proven attendance record.
Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others.
