Job Description
Job Purpose
Safely retrieve, transport, relocate, and package storage bins containing chemical compounds from inventory during a facility move activity. The Picking Associate will foster a working environment that is safe, clean, fair, positive, and driven to continuously improve.
The contract will run from October 7, 2024 to December 20, 2024.
Work will take place at 2 locations: North York site (2 Brisbane Rd., North York, M3J 2J8, ON) and Woodbridge site (101 Milani Rd, Woodbridge, L4H 4M4, ON)
We are offering a contract completion bonus equal to 10% of regular earnings following the successful completion of the contract.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a High Level of Safety

Understand and foresee and report possible safety issues.

Abide by health and safety guidelines prescribed by governing bodies and the TRC Environmental Health and Safety Committee.

Sustain 5S and general housekeeping of work area.

Promote a safe and hygienic working environment.

Work in a manner that does not jeopardize the safety of self or co-workers.
Manage and Relocate Regular Inventory
-
Collect, transport, relocate bins containing inventory to diverse areas as instructed by the supervisor in turn.

Perform packaging activities of bins containing chemical inventory following internal packaging processes following directions and recommendations from the Shipping and Logistics Supervisor including palletization of bins if/when needed.

Cleaning and sanitation as required.

Communicate with Finished Goods, Shipping & Logistics Supervisors, and management to ensure that potentially compromised products are removed and placed in a secured quarantine area for assessment.

Perform all tasks within the scope of all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Task Instructions (TIN), or Work Instructions (WI) related to the job function.

Qualifications
Education Requirements

No minimum education is required, however, College diploma with background in Chemistry is an asset.

Role Dimensions

Works with other members of the Finished Goods and Shipping teams on collecting, transporting, and moving inventory bins meeting the required daily targets.

Works with Environment, Health &Safety team regarding environmental, health, and safety issues and policies.
Physical & Working Conditions/Hybrid Work
-
Spend varying amounts of time in walk-in freezers and fridge, where chemicals are stored.
-
Working closely with chemical compounds including ones that are potentially toxic or classified as Dangerous Goods
-
Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment while handling chemicals such as a respirator which requires fit testing, steel toe cap safety shoes if/when doing palletization
-
Clean shaving is required to comply with PPE policies.
-
Must be able to stand, walk, and/or push carts carrying heavy objects for short periods of time throughout the day.

Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 30kg for short distances (<5m).

Must be available for:

A morning shift (6 am to 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday), or
-
An afternoon shift (2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, Monday to Friday)

Shift may change to a different shift depending on business needs.

Must have weekend availability to work depending on business needs.
