Opportunity: Journeyman Refrigeration/HVAC Technician
Travel: Flights provided from Edmonton & Calgary
Schedule: 7 Days on 7 Days off - 12 hour days
Job Location: Fort McMurray Region
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and install industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues and complete required repairs.
- Inspect HVAC equipment and identify deficiencies, required repairs, and maintenance needs.
- Service equipment including furnaces, rooftop units, air handling units, make-up air units, exhaust systems, boilers, and related HVAC equipment.
- Read and interpret drawings, schematics, equipment manuals, and specifications.
- Complete work orders and required maintenance documentation accurately and on time.
- Coordinate work with site supervision, operations, maintenance personnel, and other trades.
- Follow all site-specific safety procedures, permitting requirements, and company policies.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
Qualifications:
- Journeyperson Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic certification required.
- Previous HVAC experience in an industrial, oil sands, mining, or heavy construction environment considered an asset.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a driver’s abstract that meets company insurance requirements.
- Must have ESC CSO regional training and certificate.
- Ability to meet site-access requirements, including required safety training and pre-employment testing.
- Valid Energy Safety Canada accredited Elevated Work Platform, Confined Space and Fall Protection.
- Class A Certificate preferred.
- Self-motivated, reliable, flexible and proactive with an ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Demonstrated a history of safe Refrigeration/HVAC related practices.
