Looking for PSW near West Mall Etobicoke.
We are looking for someone to be on call with split availability from 9 am-2 pm/4-10pm. This person will be paid 25 hours a week guaranteed if no shift is available you will still be paid as long as you can commit to the on-call hours. Some of the shifts are broken up during the day (some are 1-hour shifts).
As a Personal Support Worker, you will work to optimize client safety and quality of care. You will provide personal care, palliative care, housekeeping and respite services to seniors in their own homes or apartments in a variety of locations and settings.
Must Be:
- Personal Support Worker certification or Foreign-trained nurse
- Valid First Aid & CPR
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage workload.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with the team, patients and their families.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- 6 months to one year of experience working with seniors
- Tuberculosis Test (TB test) completed within the last 12 months
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Recent clear Police Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (the date of issue must be within the last 6 months)
- Follows direction and excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent attendance record.
- The ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Homemaking (e.g. meal preparation, cleaning, laundry etc)
- Personal Care (e.g. personal hygiene, dressing, toileting, medication reminder, transfer, reposition, escort to medical appointments
- Respond to Emergency Response System (Lifeline and mobile phone) calls
- Contribute to a culture of client safety and employee Health and Safety, by complying with all safety practices of the organization, reporting unsafe practices and adverse events, and acting on safety recommendations.
