Job Title: HACCP Coordinator

Job Scope:
As a HACCP Coordinator, your primary responsibility is to ensure a strong food safety culture throughout the production process and within the company. You will lead the management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the HACCP system and BRC certification, working to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and certification requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- HACCP System Management: Maintain, and improve the HACCP system, regularly monitoring and updating it to meet current industry trends and regulations.
- Audit Leadership: Lead the preparation and execution BRC certification requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and audit quality systems to ensure all products are manufactured to the highest safety standards while leading corrective actions for any non-compliance issues.
- Training & Support: Provide training and support to managers, supervisors, and production staff on HACCP regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with operations, sanitation, and maintenance teams to provide technical HACCP support. Monitor FSQA monthly KPIs and provide recommendations to the senior management.
- Food Safety Audits: Perform internal HACCP audits, mock recalls, and reassessments, ensuring all records are reviewed regularly.
- Regulatory Compliance: Acts as Point of Contact for CFIA on Preventive Control Plan (PCP) and Standard Inspection Process (SIP) issues, or any other concern. Ensure all food safety-related programs are compliant with both company and regulatory standards, including SOP, SSOP, monitoring forms, document control, and pre-requisite programs.
- Department Collaboration: Collaborate with the QA Technologist and Sanitation Supervisor to ensure compliance with lab testing, and sanitation standards, and guide to enhance the food safety culture.
- Record and program verification: Verify CCP records, label approval, and other QA duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Solid knowledge of HACCP regulations and BRC certification with proven experience in a food production environment.
- Bachelor of Science or Diploma in Food Science program or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide on-the-job training.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to lead by example in a fast-paced production environment.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and problem-solving.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with CFIA personnel and internal teams.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
