Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance on all operations vehicles and equipment.
- Follow manufacturer and internal maintenance programs and inspection procedures.
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on various pieces of construction equipment as well as light and heavy-duty trucks.
- Conduct pre-trip/walk-around safety inspections and complete daily field-level hazard assessments for all activities.
- Be a leader of both safety and production for the team by ensuring compliance with all company, client, and legislated safety policies, procedures and regulations.
- Safe & cost-effective maintenance of heavy mobile equipment.
- Complete maintenance records and documentation as required
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Ontario 310T Truck and Coach Technician Certificate of Qualification.
- Minimum five years of experience as a licensed mechanic.
- Experience servicing Ford, Freightliner, Peterbilt, and similar equipment.
- Must be able to troubleshoot engine, transmission, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience working on directional drills, trailers, and small tools is considered an asset
- Previous experience working with heavy civil construction and/or highway paving and highway maintenance equipment (i.e. snowplows) would be an asset
- Must have a valid Driver's License (preferably Class D or A with Z Endorsement) and ability to provide a clean 3-year driver's abstract and CVOR
- Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions which may be accompanied by sketches and diagrams
- Must have strong computer skills to access equipment faults
- Must have a full set of standard 310T mechanic tools.
Work Conditions:
- Applicants who reside in Ontario will be given preference due to the locations of these projects
- Must be open to afternoon shifts
- Work will be primarily outdoors in various weather conditions
Compensation
$53.01 per hour
This is the applicable wage for this position.
Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.
