Overview
We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Gift Shop Attendant to join our team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, managing sales transactions, and ensuring the shop's merchandise is well-presented. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases
- Operate POS systems accurately for sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the gift shop area
- Restock shelves and merchandise displays as needed to ensure attractive presentation
- Provide product demonstrations and upsell items to maximize sales opportunities
- Answer customer inquiries with professionalism and courtesy, utilizing effective phone etiquette when applicable
- Manage inventory levels and assist with merchandising strategies to promote featured products
- Handle cash register operations efficiently while maintaining accuracy in transactions
- Support team members in maintaining a positive shopping environment through excellent customer service
Experience
- Previous retail sales or cashiering experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with customers effectively
- Basic math skills necessary for cash handling and transaction management
- Familiarity with POS systems, merchandising principles, and sales techniques such as upselling is advantageous
- Excellent organizational skills, time management, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated professionalism in customer service settings, including phone etiquette and interpersonal communication skills
