The Junior Field Assistant supports the Health & Safety Manager by assisting with the day-to-day administration and coordination of the company's health and safety program. This is an entry-level position designed for an individual with construction experience who is eager to learn, grow, and develop a career in the construction industry. Full training will be provided.
The successful candidate will spend time both in the office and in the field, supporting project sites and ensuring safety documentation, equipment, and supplies are maintained.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct new employee orientations and onboarding.

Maintain employee training and certification records.

Learn and administer the company's safety management platform (SiteDocs).

Equipment tracking.
-
Review daily inspections, hazard assessments, toolbox talks, and other safety documentation for completeness and accuracy.

Assist with the review of near misses and minor incident reports, gathering information and supporting follow-up actions as directed by the Health & Safety Manager.

Conduct site inspections and assist in maintaining company safety standards.

Perform equipment inspections, including fall protection equipment and mobile equipment.

Ensure project sites are stocked with required safety supplies and PPE.

Assist with deliveries of safety equipment and other site supplies as required.

Coordinate safety meetings and assist with meeting preparation.

Collect and organize subcontractor safety documentation.

Support the Health & Safety Manager with general administrative duties and special projects.

Qualifications
-
1–2 years of construction experience.

Valid Class 5 driver's licence, reliable vehicle and a clean driver's abstract.

Proficient in spoken and written English.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable learning new computer software.

Ability to learn quickly and work independently after training.

Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.

Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced construction environment.

Ability to walk active construction sites, climb multiple flights of stairs, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
