Serenity Transfer Service Ltd. is British Columbia’s trusted provider of professional deceased transfer services. Since 2019, we have supported hospitals, care facilities, provincial agencies, investigative authorities, and funeral service providers throughout the province.

We are seeking a composed, organized, and mission-driven individual to join our team as Northern Regional Manager / Decedent Transfer Technician. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines regional operational oversight with frontline transfer work.
The Role
As Northern Regional Manager / Decedent Transfer Technician, you will help oversee field operations throughout the Prince George, Cariboo, and Peace regions. You will support staff, monitor regional coverage, assist with scheduling needs, ensure policy compliance, and help maintain STSL’s standard of professional and dignified service.
You will also respond to transfer calls as needed and participate directly in decedent transfers. The successful candidate must be able to lead calmly, communicate clearly, and remain composed in sensitive and challenging environments.
This role requires flexibility, including the ability to travel within the region and remain in another area for extended periods when operational needs require it.
What You’ll Do
Regional Leadership & Staffing
- Monitor regional staffing levels and technician availability
- Assist with scheduling and call coverage based on operational needs
- Support, mentor, and check in with team members
- Promote compliance with STSL policies and procedures
- Help maintain professional standards across the region
Operational Oversight
- Assist with regional call assignments, response times, and deployment efficiency
- Travel between regional service areas when required
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Ensure vehicles are clean, equipped, maintained, and operational
- Conduct quality assurance checks and identify areas for improvement
- Maintain strict confidentiality in all matters
Administrative Duties
- Use Outlook, Teams, and internal systems for communication and scheduling
- Maintain professional working relationships with hospitals, care homes, law enforcement, and funeral service partners
- Provide operational updates and reports to senior leadership
- Support consistent communication between field staff and management
Decedent Transfer Duties
As part of this dual-role position, you will also support frontline transfer operations. Duties include:
- Responding promptly to transfer calls, often on short notice
- Safely and respectfully transporting decedents using company vehicles
- Navigating tight spaces, cluttered environments, stairs, and narrow hallways during removals
- Completing required documentation accurately and professionally
- Interacting respectfully with families, facility staff, law enforcement, and medical personnel when required
- Driving throughout the region and surrounding areas, including in adverse weather and road conditions
What We’re Looking For
The successful candidate will have:
- A valid Class 5 BC driver’s licence with no restrictions
- A reliable personal vehicle to travel to meeting points or vehicle locations before shifts
- The ability to lift 150+ lbs unassisted and assist with moving up to 300 lbs with a partner
- The ability to pass a criminal record check, provided at no cost to the applicant
- Emotional maturity and composure in sensitive situations
- Comfort working with deceased individuals in various conditions, including possible exposure to bodily fluids
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanour
- The ability to follow policy, take direction, and support others in doing the same
- The ability to provide required dress code attire: plain black collared shirt, black pants, and closed-toe black shoes or boots
Previous experience in deceased transfers, funeral services, healthcare, emergency response, leadership, logistics, or field operations is considered an asset.
Nature of the Work
This role involves routine exposure to human mortality. You may encounter deceased individuals in various conditions, including traumatic injury, advanced decomposition, and other difficult circumstances.
