The Kenrick Hotel – Luxury Boutique Hotel

The Kenrick Hotel, a luxury boutique hotel in the heart of Banff, is seeking a dedicated, detail-driven Maintenance Attendant to join our team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our guest rooms, public spaces, employee housing, and hotel facilities remain safe, functional, and maintained to the high standards expected of a luxury boutique property.
This is a temporary contracted position for approximately three (3) months, with possibility of extension based on operational needs.
Eligibility Requirement:
Applicants must have a valid work permit to work in Canada.
Key Resonsibilities - Hotel Maintenance
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guest rooms, public areas, employee housing units, and back-of-house facilities.
- Complete a variety of general maintenance tasks including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall repair, furniture repairs, and preventative maintenance.
- Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities to identify maintenance, safety, or operational concerns.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure equipment, fixtures, and building systems remain in excellent working condition.
- Perform routine pool and hot tub maintenance, including daily water testing, monitoring chemical levels and temperatures, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with pool draining, refilling, and related maintenance as required.
- Repair and replace damaged fixtures, furniture, lighting, hardware, locks, flooring, and other hotel assets as required.
- Assist with seasonal property maintenance, including snow removal, landscaping, exterior upkeep, and grounds maintenance as needed.
- Support room renovations, project work, and deep maintenance initiatives.
- Maintain workshop areas, storage rooms, tools, and maintenance equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Safely operate maintenance tools, power equipment, ladders, and other job-related equipment.
- Monitor maintenance supplies and report inventory needs to ensure adequate stock is maintained.
- Respond professionally and courteously to guest requests while minimizing disruption to the guest experience.
Safety, Maintenance & Team Support
- Follow all health and safety policies, safe work procedures, and WHMIS guidelines.
- Promptly report safety hazards, equipment failures, or building concerns to management.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work orders and preventative maintenance tasks when required.
- Work collaboratively with Housekeeping, Front Desk, and other departments to ensure guestrooms are ready for arriving guests.
- Support fellow team members and assist with operational priorities as needed.

Qualifications & Skills
- Previous general maintenance, building maintenance, or hotel maintenance experience is required.
- Experience with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Comfortable interacting professionally with guests and responding to maintenance requests.
- Ability to participate in a shared on-call rotation with the maintenance team to respond to after-hours maintenance and emergency situations.
- Basic English speaking and comprehension skills are considered an asset.
- Willingness to wear the company uniform and name badge.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional on-call shifts as required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
- Physically capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 75 lbs.
- Comfortable climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching overhead, and performing repetitive physical tasks.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
