An excellent opportunity exists for an innovative and collaborative professional to provide medical secretarial support to Neurotheraptics program at the Parkwood Institute Mental Health Care Building. The main responsibilities are to maintain and book appointments in Cerner, organize and maintain clinic activities, file and distribute reports, handle clinic referrals, OHIP billing, and support any patient activity, including working seamlessly and collaboratively with and clinical staff ,supporting the teams and clients as well as the administrative leaders within the ECT, rTMS, Health Services and specialized Neurotherapatics Clinic .
Essential Qualifications
Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
Graduate of a recognized Medical Office Administration Diploma program
Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent as recognized in the province of Ontario
Excellent understanding of medical terminology
Demonstrated Intermediate level computer skills particularly with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat/Reader
Minimum 40 wpm typing speed and transcribing experience
Good working knowledge of Cerner, Outlook, and scheduling software
Working knowledge of Acuity STAR program
High level of initiative and self-direction required with proven problem solving abilities
Excellent organizational skills to establish and balance competing priorities in a challenging and diverse work environment
Superior communication and interpersonal skills with a strong patient/customer focus as well as a positive and professional attitude toward assisting internal or external customers
Excellent written and oral communication skills and a pleasant telephone manner
Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy with the work involved
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment with frequent interruptions
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of a physician's academic responsibilities within the teaching hospitals and the university
Experience in preparation of grant applications, publications (papers, abstracts) and presentations
Proficiency in French would be an asset

Immunization Requirements
