Global Gourmet Foods is a division of Premium Brands Holdings Corporation (TSX: PBH) which owns a broad range of leading specialty food manufacturing and differentiated food distribution businesses with operations. Global Gourmet Foods is a federally registered food manufacturer who supplies premium kettle products to key accounts in both domestic and export markets.
As the Accountant, you will be provided support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. You will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances. Provide financial information.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Apply collection to update accounts receivable and reconcile AR balance
- Notify sales department and/or logistics department disputed credits by customer and prepare credit entry
- Prepare payments to update accounts payable and reconcile AP balance
- Verify purchase invoices against purchase orders and bill of lading
- Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
- Assist with reviewing of expenses etc. as assigned
- Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
- Conduct intercompany reconciliation for entity within Global Group
- Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/quarterly/yearly closings
- Assist with other accounting projects
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience as an accountant
- Excellent organizing abilities
- Great attention to detail
- Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen
- Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software (e.g. SAP)
- Qualifications (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) is a plus but not required
- BSc/Ba in accounting, finance or relevant field/equivalent
- Good written, verbal, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to speak Mandarin and/or Cantonese is an asset
