Bachelors Degree – Business administration, accounting or related field
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA)
3-5 years of financial corporate/clinical analysis experience including accounting, reporting, budgeting, variance analysis and business case development.
Self-directed, action oriented and highly motivated, an adept team player and team leader
Proven ability to interpret, summarize and communicate complex financial and statistical data to stakeholders throughout the organization
Well-developed analytical, problem-solving and excellent organization skills with ability to manage a multitude of tasks and prioritize effectively

Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
Ability to work accurately under stressful conditions and meet tight deadlines.

Advanced computer skills MS Office (Excel, Word etc.), ROSS accounting system, COGNOS TM1 reporting system, with an aptitude for learning new computer applications quickly
Experience using multiple data sources (financial, statistical, case costing, CIHI databases, Ministry data etc.) to develop and prepare complex analysis preferred
Knowledge of Hospital funding methodology - Health System Funding Reform (HSFR), Health Based Allocation Model (HBAM), and Patient Based Funding preferred
Ministry of Health financial reporting experience: MIS Trial balance submission, Ontario Case Costing Initiative (OCCI), Specific Program Reporting, Quarterly Hospital and Community Reports (SRI), Annual Planning Submissions (HAPS/CAPS) etc. preferred
Knowledge of Healthcare sector and Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC) reporting requirements, including Ontario Hospital Reporting Standards (OHRS)/MIS Guidelines preferred
Evidence of satisfactory attendance record

Ensure all financial and statistical transactions recorded in monthly related program or business unit cost centre reports are accurate and in compliance with Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) and MIS Guidelines/Ontario Hospital Reporting Standards (OHRS).
Prepare monthly assigned program or business unit financial performance reports with comprehensive analysis in consultation with program leaders.
Work autonomously to analyze financial results and work with Directors/Managers of an assigned Program or Business Units to interpret and present the financial impact of operational decisions as well as identify areas of process improvement by providing evidence based information to execute decisions and monitor results.
Work with related programs or business units to develop forecasts, capturing any emerging trends, cost saving strategies to project budget surplus/ deficit, provide management with analytical trending data and develop an effective method of tracking identify initiatives.
Key participant in annual operating and capital budget cycle for the development of a multi-year Healthcare Centre Operating and Capital Plan, working collaboratively, supporting and advising with program or business unit leaders to develop annual operating plans and budgets (including identification of opportunities to improve financial performance and efficiencies).
Monitor assigned program operational performance against plan by providing monthly status and year-end forecast reports
Provide strategic problem solving to assigned program leaders and business units.
Liaise with all relevant stakeholders to ensure timely accurate financial and statistical reporting and adherence to monthly/quarterly and year-end timetables.
Prepare for management review related Ministry of Health (MOH) financial and statistical documents related to any assigned programs in accordance with established guidelines and timelines.
Assist and support the following processes: Ontario Case Costing (OCC) Submission; Self Reporting Initiative (SRI) Submission: Hospital Quarterly, Community Quarterly, HAPS, CAPS; Statistical and Financial Data Submission: MIS Trial Balance Submission.
Provide ad hoc analyses and costing as required, and prepare reports to external stakeholders such as LHINs, Ontario Health Teams (OHT), and other funding agencies.
Develop customized reports and visually impactful presentations for various stakeholders including monthly financial results presentations, reports on key performance indicators, etc.
