Data Quality Reconciliation Analyst

What is the opportunity?

RBC’s data is a critical enterprise asset which is as valuable as its financial and human assets. Data empowers RBC’s business decisions and insights, and must be managed in a way that ensures its quality, timeliness, protection and availability.

As an Analyst focusing on Data Quality Reconciliations with the U.S. Data Office, you will examine the critical data displayed in key reports used by the business and for regulatory reports and work to ensure it meets Data Quality Standards and Controls. You will work to measure and increase the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of data, and ensure data is ‘Fit for Purpose’ (that the data does the job it was designed to do).

You will gain an understanding about different data sources, learn about data definitions and how data is exchanged or flows between various systems, understand how data changes or is transformed as it moves throughout these systems, and identify / prevent risks. You will develop insights to educate stakeholders so they may make informed business decisions.

What will you do?

Work using Agile methodology to improve the value of data at RBC
Provide data completeness analysis of business, financial and reporting data through use of cutting edge data/analytic tools.
Help understand the flow of data within RBC reporting through analysis and data mapping to improve reporting quality and accuracy.
Collaborate with various stakeholders within IT and the reporting areas to provide information on various aspects associated with RBC’s data reconciliation requirements.
Identify and analyze the various source systems and manual uploads that feed critical data into key reports used by the business and regulators.
Become a subject matter expert

What do you need to succeed?

7+ years of professional work experience, with 4+ years’ experience working in a data-rich industry (e.g., financial services, marketing, retail) or delivering results for data-related projects.
Experience in a finance, audit or analysis position
Understanding of Finance and Risk data reconciliation concepts
Strong analytical skill set
Excellent Communication: Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
University degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or related discipline

Understanding of Data Governance and Data Quality concepts and processes
Knowledge of FBO regulatory reporting requirements
Strong technical skills
Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Agile and Waterfall methodologies
