Job Summary
We are seeking a responsible and caring Dog Boarder to provide a safe, comfortable, and engaging environment for dogs in your care. Boarding occurs in your own home. Dogs in your care are required to be crate trained, so they can be safely crated overnight or if you are out of the house. The Dog Boarder should work from home or have short work hours outside of boarding to ensure boarding dogs are not left home alone for any extended periods.
The ideal candidate will have experience with dogs of all breeds and behaviours, excellent customer service skills and be reliable. This role involves supervising dogs during their stay, ensuring their well-being, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
Duties
- Feed and provide fresh water to dogs according to their individual needs and schedules
- Administer medications or special care instructions as directed by pet owners or veterinarians where needed
- Monitor dogs’ behavior and health
- Provide daily exercise, playtime, and socialization to keep dogs active and happy
- Maintain cleanliness of crates, bedding, and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment
- Communicate regularly with pet owners during their dogs stay with you
- Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries to animals or yourself
Skills
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and address their concerns
- Compassionate attitude towards animals, with patience and understanding of different temperaments
- Ability to handle dogs safely while maintaining control and providing individual attention
- Basic knowledge of dog behaviour and health needs
- Reliable, responsible, with excellent organizational skills to manage daily tasks efficiently
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

This position offers an opportunity to work remotely and is flexible depending on owners needs. You are paid per dog per night, so pay varies. Please provide your dog related experience when applying. Thank you!
