Job Summary
Dunwald & Fleming Enterprises Ltd. is seeking dedicated and hardworking Construction Labourers to join our shallow utility crews. This position involves supporting field operations on underground utility and construction projects through general labour duties, site preparation, material handling, and assisting equipment operators and crew members as required. This position provides an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in building a career in the construction industry while developing a diverse skill set across multiple trades.
Responsibilities:
- Report to the Foreman and follow verbal and written instructions while working effectively as part of a crew
- Assist operators and pipe crews with daily construction activities as required
- Perform general site clean-up, act as a spotter, and help maintain a safe and organized worksite
- Handle, move, and organize materials and equipment on site
- Use tools and equipment as required to complete assigned tasks
- Follow all safety procedures and safe work practices at all time
- Reliable attendance and punctuality, arrive on site and being ready to work on time
- Experience in construction, HDD, utilities and pipeline work, or HDPE pipe fusing is considered an asset
Requirements
- Introductory knowledge related to shallow utility industry is considered an asset
- Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a minimum of three years of insurable driving history (insurance proof required)
- Work extended hours, including 10+ hour days and occasional 6–7day work weeks, depending on project demands
- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Preference will be given to candidates with valid safety tickets (CSTS-2020, PCST, WHMIS, First Aid, Ground Disturbance Level II in-class, Confined Space)
- Ability to work safely and follow all site procedures
- Some out-of-town work may be required
- Willingness to learn - training and development will be provided for the right candidate
- Entry-level position, typically suited for individuals with less than one year of experience
Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
