Harmony Caregiving is a locally owned and operated home care company serving seniors and adults in Edmonton, St. Albert, and Sherwood Park.
Our mission is multifaceted: we focus on the overall well-being of our clients. The individuals we work with live with different challenges including dementia, disabilities, and other medical conditions. We provide vital support to their families to prevent caregiver burnout and support everyone involved in our client's care.
At the heart of Harmony Caregiving is the dynamic relationship between our Health Care Aides (HCAs) and the seniors they assist. Our HCAs are not just caregivers; they are life enhancers, in tune with the complex needs of our clients, and committed to elevating their day-to-day experiences. We value these essential qualities in our staff: Edmonton and/or surrounding areas such as St. Albert, Spruce Grove, and Sherwood Park.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Socializing and taking an interest in getting to know and develop a relationship with your clients
· Assisting with personal care including: showering, toileting, dressing, medications
· Engaging your client in activities inside and outside of the house
· Running Errands
· Preparing healthy meals
· Driving and accompanying to appointments and outings
· Light housekeeping
· Maintaining Harmony Way policies: open communication, confidentiality, appropriate attire, HCA competent care
REQUIREMENTS
· Health Care Aide Certification
· Must be registered in the Alberta HCA Directory
· Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
· Reliable Vehicle for Transporting Clients
· First Aid/CPR certificate
· Experience working with vulnerable groups, particular seniors is an asset
· Dementia care training is an asset
· Early Childhood Educator Certificate is an asset
· Experience with epilepsy and seizures is an asset
· Skills in meal preparation, cooking, and baking is an asset
· Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector required
· Experience with disabilities and developmental delays is an asset
Due to the nature of our business in taking care of the vulnerable population, we require our caregivers to be current with Covid -19 vaccinations.
