Current Rate of Pay: Min $31.77- Max $39.72
Current Shifts: Days (Approximately 12 months - Oct 2024 - Oct 2025)
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, Organizational Development, Employee Health, Student & Volunteer Services and working as part of a team, this position is accountable for the following duties within the HR Department:
- Presenting as the first point of contact for internal and external inquiries
- Employee file management and data entry into multiple systems (Payroll, benefits, pension) while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality with high volumes, frequent interruptions and time sensitivity
- Coordinating and facilitating new hire orientation
- Provides support to the rest of the HR team, supporting core HR functions related to Recruitment, Benefits Administration and Labour Relations, including the administration of onboarding, off-boarding, and employee changes related to compensation, benefits, leaves, and employment.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- Post-Secondary education in Human Resources or Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and relevant Human Resources experience required
- 2-3 years’ experience in Human Resources required, preferably in a unionized, healthcare setting, including demonstrated experience with staffing and recruitment practices
- Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to employment (i.e. Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code)
- Excellent data-entry skills and experience working in a high-volume data-entry environment, with frequent interruptions;
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with the HR Team staff and management
- Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Office 365, HRIS systems, and WebEx
- High level of tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality
- Excellent organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
- High level of initiative and self-direction
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a self-directed manner as well as collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service when interacting with patients, families, colleagues and physicians
- Experience with coordinating and facilitating employee orientation and events
