About This Opportunity
The Manager of Data Science, Advanced Analytics (Commercial Growth Strategy & Execution Department) is reporting directly to the Director, Advanced Analytics with the role principally based at the Toronto King St office with work-from-home flexibility.
This individual will be the lead for data science on the Commercial team driving the development, leadership, and improvement of all commercial analytics modeling & output responsibilities and a key leader needed to drive a culture of advanced analytics for Coke Canada inclusive of categories, brands, channel, customer, and product analysis from descriptive through to predictive stages. The focus of this individual will be to structure, build, and utilize tools that identify opportunities and risks and form outputs that can be readily useable for live pilots and full executions with our other department partners. In this data science focused team, this individual will have direct accountability for use of the data and the models built in addition to the usability of the insights and pipeline of areas of innovation for the team. This role is dependent on a high level of collaboration with all levels of the organization to deliver on a significant results-oriented responsibility. This role operates in both direct contribution as well as indirect stewardship and people management responsibility. This individual is essential to meeting our future profitable growth goals and those of our customers in a fact-based manner as Coca-Cola Canada Bottling Ltd.
Responsibilities
Commercial Analytics
Key contributor for the development of Coke Canada commercial analytics tools and communication of implementation strategies
Key support and responsible for the results of innovation cannibalization, collision matrix, customer and consumer segmentation, brand attribute analysis, store clustering, and channel pilot projects for revenue improvement
Responsible for contributing to the development of the trade spend optimization tools and processes for all channels in conjunction with other partner resources
Key consult for partnership work on promotion offer testing (third-party) and ownership of post-audits for implementation opportunities and risk identification
Accountable for the development for analytics use cases for revenue and profit acceleration on assigned projects.
Team Management and Coaching
Future potential for direct management of a few data science analysts and other cross-functional teams
A key relationship contact for all tools development suppliers including designers and third-party platform investments
Indirect support and coaching for total company analytical initiatives and data science acceleration plans
Annual & Long-term Revenue Planning Process
Key consult within the process of planning the volume and revenue including scenario building, elasticity impacts, volume/rate/mix scenarios, and overall customer and category support
Ad-hoc Support and Reporting Management
Support requests for both the individual and the team’s analysis including ad-hoc, monthly, and YTD reporting with an emphasis on results vs predictions
Post-audit and compliance tracking for all projects and routines
Support ad-hoc requests for deep dives and productivity projects
Assist in analyzing and providing insights with retail data, shipment data, demographics, brand attribute, customer information, and financial P&Ls
Process Improvement Management Projects
Key item accountability within routines and rituals including project management, meeting ownership, documentation, cross-functional alignment, and measurement.
Development of a continuous list of ongoing process improvement projects.
Leadership of new process improvement charters and project management from investigation through to implementation with cross functional teams
