Position Overview:
We are seeking a full-time Shop Technician to join our team in Edmonton. The role involves working from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential for overtime. In this position, you will also play an integral role in ensuring timely deliveries and pickups, utilizing your driving skills to transport tools and equipment safely between locations. This requires a reliable Alberta driver’s license and an ability to handle driving responsibilities as part of daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with cleaning, repairing, rebuilding, and painting various tools.
- Measure and record tool dimensions; enter data into the Load Out Manager (LOM) system.
- Participate in daily safety meetings.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shop.
- Collaborate with Tool Technicians and Shop Foreman to manage inventory.
- Provide top-level support in the shop environment.
- Perform pickups and deliveries of tools and equipment between various locations as needed.
- Ensure the safe and secure transportation of equipment while adhering to all road safety regulations.
- Adhere to ISO and Health, Safety, and Environment policies.
- Comply with safety training and legislative requirements.
- Be a reliable and dependable team member.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education is an asset.
- Completion of Import Tool Corp.’s orientation and training programs (GHS/WHMIS, first aid, forklift, and overhead crane).
- Oilfield or drilling industry experience is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Effective under pressure with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Valid Alberta driver’s license with an updated driver abstract.
- Willingness and ability to perform driving duties for pickups and deliveries.
