The work of the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) team is to look ahead to the use of our existing and future generating, transmission and distribution (energy delivery) assets, and design and deploy maintenance strategies to ensure their reliable, efficient operation. To advance this function, the Asset Management (AM) Operations team delivers processes, programs and tools to our field-based and engineering personnel to make asset data and analytics available, support challenges with equipment operation and performance, and enable improved planning and risk-based decision-making.
We are currently looking for an Operations Analyst to join our team! This role will primarily support Power Production and is office-based with occasional requirements to travel to Power Production or energy delivery sites.
Key elements of this role include::
The Operations Analyst will participate in the deployment and support of processes and tools for field-based and Engineering resources across NS Power’s core Operating and engineering areas. Specifically:

Work with Engineering, Operations and Operational Technology (OT) personnel to implement technology-based solutions to support the Planning, Maintenance and Operating activities, and the deployment of Maintenance Strategies for power production and energy delivery assets.

Support the deployment and sustainment of Asset Management tools and processes for NS Power’s operational areas, including, but not limited to:
-
Electronic Logbooks
-
Digital Operator Rounds
-
Digital Substation Checks
-
Recommendation Management
-
Preventative Maintenance Activities
-
Productivity Initiative Activities
-
Seek continuous improvement opportunities for digitization of information, strengthening of processes, and improving end-user experience through:
-
regular engagement with Operations and Engineering personnel to solicit feedback and shape solutions
-
preparation and delivery of training/materials as required to support the tools and processes
-
application-level troubleshooting
-
Steward and manage the quality of data and information in the supported systems including:
-
Management of user access requests for supported applications and hardware
-
Oversight of equipment hierarchy, asset classifications, criticality and other information
-
Ensuring the completeness of information associated with preventative maintenance activities such that they can be effectively managed, and queried
-
Ensure activities deployed through supported systems align with internal guidance documents and Regulatory requirements
-
Support engineering activities (troubleshooting, root cause analysis, asset risk-profiling, etc.) through data retrieval and analysis
-
Steward the relationship with the third-party service provider for the work management system to prioritize and implement fixes and enhancements

Work with EAM OT team and NS Power IT teams to trouble-shoot resolve application and/or end-user challenges

Report on program and process compliance, providing analysis and insights to Senior Leadership

Be a steward of Asset Management processes and technologies
-
Participate in EAM and AM Operations team and project meetings as required to execute and scope the work, and ensure continued alignment with corporate strategy

Post-secondary education from an accredited institution, Industrial Engineering Technology preferred, or equivalent experience

Proficient computer utilization skills including MS Office Suite

Experience working in a unionized industrial environment, with exposure to maintenance and/or work-planning processes considered an asset
-
Asset Management or other process optimization certifications considered an asset
-
Exposure to Operational Technologies and/or data (e.g., instrumentation, controls, SCADA) considered an asset
-
Ability to work on multiple projects and manage priorities
-
Effective communication and strong organizational skills
-
Class 5 Driver’s license
