Join our vibrant flower shop team as our Flower Shop Customer Service Assistant, where your enthusiasm for flowers and dedication to exceptional service will blossom!
In this role you will help with the day-to-day operations of the flower shop, providing excellent customer service and sales transactions, while assisting with floral products, deliveries, shop maintenance, and general duties. Your energy and organizational skills will help create a welcoming atmosphere that inspires customers to bring beauty into their lives. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop retail and customer service expertise while working in a creative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
Assist customers in selecting flowers and plants suited to their needs and occasions
Answer phones, take orders, and assist with customer inquiries.
Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales
Handle cash transactions with precision and maintain secure cash handling procedures
Manage online orders through e-commerce platforms, ensuring timely fulfillment and customer satisfaction
Assist with preparing flowers, plants, gifts, and arrangements for customers/ deliveries
Help receive, unpack, water, condition, and care for flowers and plants.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming shop environment.
Maintain attractive merchandising displays that highlight seasonal offerings and promotions.
Assist with incoming deliveries and loading/unloading products as required.
Assist with outgoing floral deliveries as required.
Organize stock inventory, restock shelves, and ensure the shop remains tidy and welcoming
Perform general cleaning and other duties as needed.
Work cooperatively with the floral design team and other staff members.
Qualifications & Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to safely lift and place items overhead.
Ability to work on your feet and remain standing for extended periods.
Ability to bend, reach, lift, carry, and move products throughout the shop.
Friendly, outgoing, and customer-focused personality.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a strong sense of empathy
Excellent communication skills in English
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Valid Class 5 Drivers License is required. A current drivers’ abstract will be requested from the successful candidate.
Ability to voice ideas and take action to improve shop efficiancies
Ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities
Previous floral experience is considered an asset, but is not required.
Previous retail or customer service experience is an asset
Pay: $16.00 per hour
