The Associate Investment Product Manager (AIPM) will receive direction from and work closely with members of the Product Intelligence Team (PIT) and with the Investment Directors to source data and help develop messaging for investment strategies to internal groups, principally in Distribution. The AIPM will also assist with research related to the development of thought leadership and optimize the product management process with efficient data organization. This role does not have any direct client contact and is suited to someone equally comfortable working with large data sets with multiple sources and building sales narratives around that data. It is the first level in the Investment Product Manager career path. She/he will play an active and important role in support of Mackenzie’s worldwide growth in the following areas:
Provide data support for messaging and content in materials to differentiate Mackenzie and explain performance
Support Investment Product Managers and Investment Directors to develop customized client solutions and analyses
Assist Investment Product Managers by providing data integrity and supportive insight to distribution and global portfolio content & analytics partners in the completion of highly customized request for proposals (RFPs).
Assist in the provision of portfolio updates including attribution analysis to internal partners
Work with Investment Product Managers and Investment Directors in the research and writing of thought leadership pieces such as white papers, fund insights, market insights
Collaborate with members in PIT to provide cross asset class support to Investment Directors and Sales Team members
Create quarterly/monthly/ad hoc reports and presentation decks focused on portfolio performance, positioning
Competitive Analysis - Assist in the analysis of assets and flows, competitive performance and positioning
Provide the data used in the articulation of points of differentiation for Mackenzie products and strategies
Marketing support - Assist Investment Product Managers with the content creation for fact sheets, brochures, or web content. Assist with the fund positioning and input on public relations, websites, sales presentations and talking points
Support new analytical tools and framework, act as a subject matter expert in one or more of such tools
Provide supporting data in developing long term strategic business plans for existing products
Product positioning and competitive differentiation; provide supporting data to help define unique capabilities and benefits/value proposition to effectively retain existing clients.
Build understanding of the product line up across equity, fixed income, and multi-assets
Build capital market knowledge and ability to interpret and communicate the impacts to investment performance. Understand investments strategies, performance and attribution analysis.
Develop deep partner relationships with various Mackenzie functional units
The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years of relevant experience and demonstrated leadership skills
Strong investment knowledge of capital markets and asset management
Skill to manage multiple constituent relationships within the organization
Excellent interpersonal skills, including excellent communication skills and product knowledge
Must be a self-starter who is achievement-oriented, motivated and has proven problem-solving skills in a client service role coupled with creative solutions
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Experience with investment industry tools an asset, but not essential (e.g. Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg,
