Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Safety & Compliance Coordinator to join our growing trucking company. This role is responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting driver recruitment and onboarding, managing company documentation, and assisting with day-to-day administrative operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the transportation industry, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesSafety & Compliance
- Maintain driver qualification files and ensure compliance with applicable transportation regulations.
- Monitor driver certifications, licenses, medical certificates, training records, and renewals.
- Track and manage Hours of Service (HOS) compliance and electronic logging device (ELD) records.
- Assist with safety audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
- Investigate and document accidents, incidents, and safety-related issues.
- Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and training records.
Driver Recruitment & Onboarding
- Post job advertisements and screen driver applications.
- Conduct interviews and reference checks.
- Coordinate driver onboarding and orientation.
- Verify driver credentials, abstracts, background checks, and employment history.
- Maintain recruitment records and hiring documentation.
Administrative & Documentation Management
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical company records.
- Ensure all driver and fleet documentation is current and properly filed.
- Prepare reports and compliance documentation as required.
- Support management with administrative and operational tasks.
- Coordinate communication between drivers, dispatch, and management.
Qualifications
- Experience in trucking, transportation, logistics, or fleet administration preferred.
- Knowledge of transportation safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience with driver recruitment and onboarding is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with ELD systems and Hours of Service regulations.
- Knowledge of driver qualification file requirements.
- Experience preparing for transportation audits and inspections.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
