Duties
The duties of a Municipal Works Maintainer are to perform maintenance on Works infrastructure to ensure that a Military Base is safe and secure. Works infrastructure includes: Roads, Grounds, Security Fencing, Underground Utilities, Jetties, Signage and Playgrounds. The maintenance includes: Using safe work practices, Operating machinery, Assisting trades people, Complying with environmental regulations, Conducting inspections and Recording work completed on a computer system. Each of these items requires knowledge, skill and experience. All of these can be gained through formal training, on-the-job training and experience.

Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license without restrictions issued by the Province of British Columbia or provincial or territorial equivalent.

Experience working as a Municipal Worker.

Experience using a computer including use of Microsoft Office Suite programs.

Conditions of employment
Reliability Status security clearance

COE1: Must possess and maintain a valid, non-graduated, and unrestricted provincial or territorial Class 5 driver's license and acceptable driver’s abstract.
COE2: Eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain a Departmental driver’s license (DND 404).
COE3: Must be capable of heavy lifting.
COE4: Must be willing to wear and/or utilize Personal Protective Equipment in compliance with safety regulations.
COE5: Willing and able to work overtime, including working outside normal working hours and standby.
COE6: Willing and able to work at heights.
COE7: Willing and able to travel.
COE8: Willing and able to work outdoors, in confined spaces and in hot or cold environments
