The Vancouver College of Massage Therapy is looking for part-time Senior Instructors - Anatomy, Physiology & Pathology to join the faculty of our leading massage therapy college for on-campus instruction.

Anatomy, Physiology Pathology 1 Tuesday 8:30am, Wednesday 8:30am- 12:00pm, Friday 8:30 -12:00pm
Anatomy, Pathology & Physiology 2 Tuesday and Thursday 8:30am -12:00pm
Surrey Campus
Anatomy, Pathology & Physiology 3 Monday 1:00pm-4:30pm and Thursday 8:30am -12:00pm
JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Program Director, the Senior Academic Instructor assumes primary instructional responsibilities for VCMT students’ academic training in the assigned classes. The Senior Instructor is responsible for teaching, supervising and assessing students’ learning using a variety of instructional strategies suited to the learning outcomes of the course, as laid out in the course curriculum document. Senior Instructors are expected to:
- use of a variety of teaching and assessment methods to maximize student engagement and learning
- deploy of new instructional strategies as needed in order to improve teaching skills
- create an environment conducive to purposeful learning and positive interaction, one that fosters a positive and engaging learning environments that promotes respect for the diversity of learners.
- update and continually improve course materials and PowerPoint presentations with approval from the Program Director including effective instructional materials, handouts and presentations
- clearly outline learning outcomes at the outset of each class
- demonstrate effective classroom management skills and time management skills
- maintain high standards of knowledge around course curricula
- identify students who require educational assistance, and develop a support plan in conjunction with VCMT administration
- attend scheduled instructor meetings, and professional development days
- set and model a high standard of professional behaviour and conduct themselves in a manner that is friendly, ethical, cooperative, professional and collegial.
- establish and maintain effective relationships with administrators, peers, support staff, students and the community at large
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor degree in health science or equivalent
- Healthcare professional such as Chiropractor, Physiotherapist or Naturopath preferred
- Post secondary instructional experience is an asset
- Provincial instructor diploma is an asset
