We are seeking a reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented Exterior Sanitation Specialist for a short-term, 5-week commercial maintenance contract in Amherstburg. Due to our proximity to the Detroit River and Lake Erie, the annual seasonal insect hatch (fish flies/mayflies) requires aggressive daily management. This role is critical to ensuring the bank's storefront, ATM area, and drive-thru lanes are pristine, safe, and professional before the branch opens to the public every morning.
Key Responsibilities & Daily Workflow
- Debris & Swarm Removal: Utilize a leaf blower to clear live and dead insects from the bank’s facade, architectural pillars, and surrounding walkways.
- ATM & Drive-Thru Sanitation: Clean, sweep, and sanitize 24-hour ATM vestibules, drive-thru lanes, and night deposit boxes, ensuring no insect debris interferes with customer machines.
- Waste Containment: Efficiently scoop, bag, and seal all biological insect waste into heavy-duty contractor bags. Promptly transport and dispose of all bags in the on-site commercial dumpster.
- Surface Pressure Washing: Operate a pressure washer to rinse walkways, removing sticky organic residues, egg masses, and stains from the concrete.
- Window & Glass Maintenance: Perform detailed squeegee cleaning of the exterior entryway doors, vestibule glass, and drive-thru teller windows to completely remove insect film and water spots.
Requirements & Physical Demands
- Strict Punctuality: Must be on-site and ready to work exactly at 7:00 AM daily. The 2-hour window is critical to complete the work before bank staff and customers arrive.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs
- Equipment Proficiency: Experience safely operating or willingness to learn how to operate leaf blowers and pressure washers.
- Environmental Tolerance: Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying morning weather conditions and handling large volumes of dead insects (strong odor potential; full PPE provided).
- Transportation: Reliable personal transportation to the bank location in Amherstburg.
