Reporting to the Manager, Performance Measurement, The Research Officer I position will provide support for data management, analytics and reporting needs required for service monitoring and evaluation of contracted services for the recently funded addiction treatment spaces in the province (4000 spaces). This position will develop methods to integrate information collected for the monitoring and evaluation of the new addiction services with other sources within Provincial Addiction and Mental Health data warehouse, and apply data management and structuring methods to facilitate linkages to other sources within the warehouse. The overarching responsibilities of this position also include: Liaising with information technology, data management specialists within the Performance Measurement team, and an evaluation team, advising on data collection methods and support timely data collection and integration. Engage with zone analytic and contracting teams as needed, to ensure data is collected in a standardized manner across all zones and monitor data quality. Provide input on data elements within the measurement framework for evaluation of the contracted spaces and ensure alignment with overall reporting of AMH contract services (to facilitate comparisons and standardization of data collection). Work with the evaluation team to provide standardized reporting, analytic expertise, and/or linkage and extraction of data to support the evaluation initiative. Support development of methods that will be leveraged to facilitate on-going monitoring and evaluation of contracted services. Applicants must submit a complete resume for consideration.
As a Research Officer I, you will be a key member of the provincial Addiction and Mental Health team working across multiple sites within the province with responsibility to enable evidence informed decision making and accountability within Addiction and Mental Health. You will bring a provincial perspective and provide support to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders. Your support functions may include data analysis and reporting, planning, coordination, applied research and evaluation and report writing, and knowledge exchange. You may be required to support statistical analysis, planning, literature reviews, searches and e-scans, evaluation, and the creation of reports regarding a wide range of addiction and mental health related components.

Completion of bachelor's degree in a Social Science or a health related field. Research coursework or experience in application of standard qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Additional Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor‘s degree in Health Informatics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology or Computer Science, or equivalent education and experience satisfactory to the employer. Two years of recent, directly related experience with data management, integration and standardization of information using enterprise databases (SQL, Oracle), and application to support analytics and reporting.
Masters degree with a quantitative focus in one of the above areas. Experience in health care is also preferred.
