Overview
The Project Supervisor is Irwin’s leadership on the ground. You run assigned jobs on site as the primary point of contact — keeping the crew safe and productive and the work delivered to standard. On larger jobs, you support the site leadership and project leads with an active field presence.
You report to the Divisional Manager and work closely with the Planner, the crew, the customer’s site team, and the corporate services behind you. You’re the link between what’s happening in the field and the people planning and running the division — and the field authority on safety while the job is on.
Accountabilities
- Lead assigned jobs on site as the primary point of contact, and support site leadership and project leads on larger jobs.
- Run safety in the field — set the standard, hold it, watch the early-warning signs, and make sure required documentation gets done.
- Keep the crew safe, productive, and developing.
- Deliver the work to plan — on quality, within budget, and to the client’s confidence.
- Keep accurate field information flowing to the Planner and the management team
Responsibilities
- Work out the critical path and the projected scope from all contractors.
- Set up the site — work areas, equipment, communications, and crew facilities as the job requires.
- Orient new workers to the site and its key locations.
- Coordinate on-site operations and where people are working.
- Delegate the on-site task list, monitor progress, and handle contingencies as they come up.
- Stage and allocate the crew and equipment on site to keep the job moving.
- Execute the job to the plan, the contingency plan, and the risk register.
- Track equipment and consumables during execution, and document any anomalies on the shift summary.
- Manage changes to mobilization and accommodation during the job, and communicate them back to the Administrator.
- Be the field safety authority on the job, and a safety resource to the crew, sales, and management.
- Keep accurate field information flowing to the Planner — manpower feedback, schedule awareness, and operational status.
Qualifications
- Field experience in industrial labour, with time leading crews on site.
- Strong safety background and the standing to lead safety in the field.
- Able to run a job site and coordinate people, equipment, and the customer.
- Comfortable with field paperwork, audits, approvals, and reporting.
- The tickets and certifications the division’s work requires - CSEM, Fall Pro, FireWatch.
- Must have full Class 5 driver's license, minimum of 3 years licensed in Canada, and a clean driver's abstract
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
