G1 Communications is looking for Directional Driller/Locator to join our growing team.
Qualifications:
- Must have experience doing physical labour outdoors in all weather conditions as the position requires working outdoors year round
- Must be able to work in fast paced working environment
- Capable of lifting 50+ lbs

- Read and interpret plans, locates or diagrams and perform required work
- Help with site safety (setting up traffic plans, etc.) and assist with construction clean up and restoration as required
- Strong commitment to safety - adhere to health & safety requirements and Book 7 standards for traffic conditions
- Load and unload directional drill equipment in a manner that is secure and damage free
- Transport associated tools, materials and/or equipment in a safe manner
- Complete a daily inspection on equipment prior to commencing work, set up the equipment and ground it
- Communicate with the locator/lead via radio to confirm the location of the drill head
- Assist as required in all locating aspects of the project as directed by the Drill Operator
- Locate utilities with locating systems
- Record the depth of the tool head as required
- Interpret signals sent from underground transmitters about location, angle, temperature, and other factors for the drill operator
- Prepare the drill fluid based on site conditions prior to boring commencing
- Clean, check fluid levels and conduct a visual inspection of vehicle/equipment to assure your vehicle/equipment is performing at optimum safety, perform the required pre-trip, post-trip inspections and the required paperwork; perform needed maintenance (ie. winterizing equipment)

Required experience:
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in directional drilling/locating
- Previous experience working around existing buried utilities
