Responsibilities
The Bin Maintenance Worker will be responsible for the cleaning, painting, and general maintenance of commercial compost bins and totes. Duties will include hosing out empty compost totes using a hose or pressure washer, scrubbing them with soap and water to prepare them for commercial customers, and assisting with emptying totes into trucks as needed. Additional responsibilities will include washing bins, painting, removing and applying decals, and completing other general bin maintenance duties as required.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have reliable transportation to and from the shop and be able to work flexible shifts on short notice, as this is a casual on-call position. Candidates must have CSA-approved steel-toe rubber boots and be comfortable working in a wet environment and around unpleasant smells, dirty materials, and cleaning products. The role requires the ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift up to 50 pounds. Candidates should be dependable, hardworking, have a positive attitude, and demonstrate a strong work ethic. The ability to work safely and effectively in varying weather conditions and a willingness to assist with a variety of hands-on maintenance duties are also required.
