About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, highly organized, and communicative Senior Accounts Administrator to be the operational hub of our accounts function. This is a full-time, on-site role that covers the full range of day-to-day financial administration — from payroll and CRA filings to accounts payable, purchasing, email and phones.
This role is not for someone who needs to be managed. We need someone who takes ownership, communicates proactively, and gets things done accurately and on time. You’ll be working closely with the owners and will have a direct impact on how smoothly the business runs.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees and drivers through QuickBooks Online
- Handle all direct CRA correspondence — calls, notices, remittances, and audits
- Prepare and file GST/HST, BC PST, and WCB/WorkSafeBC returns on schedule
- Match purchase orders to supplier invoices — flag and resolve discrepancies
- Review all invoices for accuracy and consistency with agreed pricing before approving payment
- Manage the accounts email inbox daily and be the first point of contact for suppliers, vendors, and business partners
- Collaborate with our bookkeeping team to ensure reconciliations, month-end close, and entries are done correctly
- Review bookkeeping output for compliance and accuracy
- Flag errors and ensure they are corrected promptly
What We’re Looking For
- Excellent English communication skills — written and verbal. You represent Barrier Boss every time you answer the phone or reply to an email
- QuickBooks Online experience — payroll and accounts payable specifically
- Canadian payroll experience — CRA remittances, ROEs, T4s
- Comfortable dealing with CRA directly
- Experience with GST/HST, PST, and WCB filings
- Detail-oriented — you catch errors before they become problems
- Self-directed — you manage your own workload and deadlines without reminders
- Fully committed to on-site work — this role requires a consistent in-office presence
- 2–3+ years of accounts, payroll, or office administration experience
What We Offer
- $26–$32 per hour depending on experience
- Full-time, permanent — Monday to Friday
