Responsibilities
- Operate skid steer loaders with precision to perform tasks such as loading, lifting, grading, and excavation across various construction sites.
- Assist with the operation of additional heavy machinery including dozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, and paving equipment to support project needs.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with team members to execute site preparation, material movement, and site cleanup efficiently.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures diligently to maintain a secure work environment for yourself and others.
- Support specialized tasks such as horizontal drilling or other mechanical operations when required.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, inspections, and work completed for project documentation.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating skid steer loaders in a construction setting; familiarity with Caterpillar or similar brands is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, backhoes, and paving machinery.
- Ability to operate multiple types of construction machinery such as loader operation, grader operation, backhoe operation, and horizontal drilling equipment.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent certification for transporting equipment or materials when necessary.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and procedures; OSHA certification is a plus.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Prior experience working on construction sites with emphasis on heavy equipment operation and site preparation tasks.
