Responsibilities
- Commercial/Industrial construction tasks
- Consistent and unwavering use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses and steel-toe boots
Experience
- Installing, setting and removing forms, scaffolding, ramps and barricades
- Installing wood and steel stud framing
- Installing drywall sheeting
- Installing hollow metal doors and frames
- Installing commercial door hardware
- Installing steel siding
- Experience in placement and finishing concrete is an asset
Skills
- Must be able to execute small projects from start to finish
- Must be able to work both independently with little supervision and collaboratively as part of a team, and provide support to site supervisor
- Effective communication skills, verbal and written along with valued ethics and integrity
- Operate various hand tools, power tools and equipment used to complete carpentry duties, including: circular and table saws, router, pneumatic nail gun, ramset, drills, and other tools used for measuring cutting, fastening and drilling
Education
- Possess working at heights certificate
- Knowledge of workplace safety, safe operation of tools, safe lifting/handling and construction policies
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License in good standing
- Punctuality and time management skills
- Capable of lifting 50+ pounds, handling heavy loads, bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time
- Able to work overtime as needed including weeknights and weekends
- Able to provide own transportation to site
