Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, promote oral health education, and support the overall efficiency of our dental team. Responsibilities
- Perform professional dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop dental radiographs as needed, ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Provide oral health education and personalized recommendations to patients for maintaining optimal dental hygiene
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized
- Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, addressing concerns promptly and professionally
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth daily operations and exceptional patient care
Requirements
- Registered Dental Hygienist in good standing with the BCCOHP
- Knowledge of orthodontics and general dentistry procedures is advantageous
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including bilingual candidates preferred
- Previous experience in dental assisting or related roles is a plus but not mandatory
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and patient care standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience using iTero scanning for patient education and treatment presentation (mandatory requirement, but happy to train the right candidate)
