Location: Cornwall Rd. Oakville, ON.
Summary:
We are looking for a Material Handler to help organize our storage areas and maintain our inventory.
Your job will be to prepare and fulfil orders fast and correctly so we can provide high-quality customer service.
The primary responsibilities and duties include; but are not limited to:
· Check incoming deliveries to make sure all ordered material meets quality standards and PO quantities.
· Load, unload and move products and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipment.
· Perform other material handling activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, packing and unpacking.
· Operate equipment to transport materials to and from transportation vehicles and loading docks and to store and retrieve materials in warehouses.
· Organize stock in the most efficient way using forklifts, pallets, cranes etc.
· Pull material to fulfill orders properly as requested by production.
· Pick orders and load them on trucks for delivery.
· Provide sufficient materials to areas to meet production requirements.
· Document orders, materials and any stock movements.
· Track inventory levels and make recommendations for purchases when supply is low.
· Responsible for cycle counts
· Maintaining inventory levels in the yard
· Store materials in appropriate areas.
· Report all inventory related issues to the Warehouse & Inventory Manager
· Comply with health and safety policies.
· Support production needs daily.
· Work collaboratively with other team members and leadership.
· May perform other activities, such as opening containers and crates, filling warehouse orders, assisting in taking inventory and weighing and checking materials.
· Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Academic Training:
· High school diploma or equivalent
Work Experience:
· Proven experience as a Material Handler, Warehouse Associate or similar position
· Familiarity with picking systems or RF devices is a plus.
· PC Experience
· Experience in using warehouse equipment (e.g. forklifts, pallet jacks)
· License to operate forklifts / reach truck is an asset and preferred.
