Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Kitchen Lead to oversee daily kitchen operations in a dynamic food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food preparation and cooking experience, and a solid understanding of food safety and restaurant management. As a Kitchen Lead, you will play a vital role in ensuring high-quality food service, maintaining a safe and efficient kitchen, and guiding team members to deliver exceptional dining experiences. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to quality standards
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain consistency and excellence in menu items
- Manage food handling procedures in compliance with safety regulations and sanitation standards
- Lead and motivate kitchen staff, providing training and guidance on food safety, cooking techniques, and service protocols
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely serving of meals and optimal customer experience
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
- Enforce health and safety policies to maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment
- Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and presentation standards
- Serve as a role model for professionalism, hospitality, and leadership within the team
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or food service setting
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling techniques
- Knowledge of restaurant management principles and kitchen operations
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations (e.g., HACCP)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to serve as a positive role model for staff
- Previous experience in the food industry or hospitality sector preferred
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; leadership qualities are essential for success in this role
Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
