Exciting Opportunity: Solutions Architect for Next-Generation Payment Modernization
Join our team as a Solutions Architect and play a pivotal role in transforming Canada's payments landscape. At the forefront of innovation, you'll lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge Interac e-Transfer solutions, ensuring seamless, real-time payment experiences for millions of members. This role offers the chance to work on high-impact projects that modernize financial services and support the upcoming Real-Time Rail (RTR) ecosystem.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Analyze existing Interac e-Transfer implementations, including API specifications and end-to-end payment flows across Digital Banking, Central 1, and Temenos T24 core banking systems.
- Develop detailed low-level design (LLD) for Azure-based integration and orchestration layers, aligned with microservices architecture principles.
- Lead end-to-end integration activities: service decomposition, orchestration, data mapping, messaging standards (ISO 20022 / ISO 8583), error handling, and interface specifications.
- Collaborate across teams—including Solution Architecture, Security, Compliance, and Business Stakeholders—to embed functional, security, and regulatory requirements into your designs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience designing e-Transfer solutions and with API development, demonstrating strong hands-on solution design and implementation skills.
- Minimum of 2 years of direct experience implementing Interac e-Transfer systems, with proven leadership of development teams.
- Deep expertise in microservices architecture, API lifecycle management, orchestration patterns, and distributed system design across any technology stack.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, leadership, and collaboration abilities within complex enterprise environments.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
- Familiarity with ISO messaging standards such as ISO 20022 and ISO 8583.
- Experience working within the Azure cloud platform.
- Knowledge of Real-Time Rail (RTR) platforms and ecosystem standards.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Extensive experience in banking, payments modernization, or similar financial technology domains.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel as needed for project meetings or client engagements.
- Relevant certifications in solution architecture, cloud, or specific payment standards are advantageous.
